EyePods: Is giving vision to Siri an Accessibility win?

Crude hand drawing of a person wearing oversized airpods that have a human-looking eye on each.

I’m seeing a lot of talk about the (rumoured/leaked) camera-equipped AirPods from Apple. The general consensus is that they’re not creeper cameras like Meta’s glasses, only feeding visual information to Apple’s AI platform to give it additional data points to assist the wearer. Reportedly, no video recording is available for the wearer.

We’ll see how it all shakes out, but it seems like a potentially more useful (and socially acceptable) accessibility device than the Meta Ray-Bans. I still don’t think I’d be comfortable wearing them in the restroom.
