What could possibly go wrong?

Actinide CTO Robert Mendelsohn and CEO Eric Olszewski stand menacingly before scaffolding surrounding a large piece of lab equipment in a Chiaroscuro-style photograph.

All of this makes me uncomfortable. The Chiaroscuro style photograph of two menacing-looking figures in lab coats (the CTO and CEO). The fact that a private company led by these supervillain-looking guys is enriching uranium. But most of all, It’s their logo:

In all seriousness though, it’s kind of cool to see that something like this is even possible. It seems they’re creating all sorts of different isotopes for medical use, energy generation, and quantum computing applications. To be able to do this with current technology and relatively low budgets (“a few hundred thousand dollars”) when it once required vast government and industrial cooperation is something new (though it seriously lowers the bar for good and bad outcomes).

Actually, what’s more impressive is that they somehow have permission to produce enriched uranium at all. Producing low-enriched uranium is kind of most of the effort required to get to the highly enriched stuff we’re all afraid of.
